Sam can stand by herself while holding onto stuff now, if only for a few seconds. And although she hasn't caught on to crawling yet, she can scoot around backwards on the hardwood floor on her butt (baby butt moonwalk). She also has 5 teeth showing with 2 more waiting to pop through any day. Yes, she is pretty cranky about it and doesn't hesitate to complain.

My trip to Alaska

roadside scenery

Samantha went on her first plane ride to Alaska to visit Grandpa for Fathers Day. She wasn't too sure about the first takeoff but after that she seemed like a seasoned traveler. It was difficult to get her to sleep at night because of the continual daylight this time of year. Although it was a short 4-day trip, we all had a great time.

Grandparents are the best!

Our 2am snack at LeRoy's in Anchorage, post plane.

Gosh, I'm starving! Can't you tell?

Do all Grandpas have beards?

Can you see the pearly whites?

Am I in trouble? I got sweet potatoes all over my face!

Samantha loves being outside. She can sit for hours in her exersaucer on the deck or on a blanket on the lawn. She might even forget about food for a split second!
It was super hot today - 90 degrees!!

Off the charts! We knew she was a big girl but...

At Samantha's 6 month well-check today, she was 21 pounds and 27 1/2 inches tall both of which are beyond the percentile charts!

And check it out - Sam can sit up by herself!
